SCALANCE XC-200EEC Industrial Ethernet switches with a ruggedenclosure are optimized for mounting on standard DIN rails andSIMATIC S7-1500 mounting rails. Direct wall mounting in variouspositions and mounting on a SIMATIC S7-300 mounting rail are alsopossible. Thanks to the SIMATIC S7-1500 enclosure dimensions, thedevices are ideally suited for integration into an automationsolution with SIMATIC S7-1500 components.

  The IP address can be assigned by means of the DHCP (Dynamic HostConfiguration Protocol). If there is no corresponding server in thenetwork, the IP address can be assigned using the supplied softwaretool SINEC PNI (Primary Network Initialization) or STEP 7 /TIA Portal. Assignment via the local console port is alsopossible

• Service bridge:
  For extended commissioning and diagnostics purposes, the SCALANCEXC-200EEC can be configured as a service bridge. The specialconfiguration permits dedicated temporary access from the plant busto the fieldbus, while simultaneously ensuring the logicalseparation between the fieldbuses.

Commissioning anddiagnostics

The integration of the SCALANCE XC-200EEC in SIMATIC PCS 7facilitates commissioning and configuring of the components. Thetopology can be created and the switches configured via thehardware catalog in SIMATIC PCS 7. The devices in SIMATIC PCS 7 canbe monitored via PROFINET diagnostics.

SCALANCE XC-200EEC Industrial Ethernet switches can also beintegrated in a network management system such as SINEC NMS usingthe standardized Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). In theevent of faults in the device, error messages (SNMP traps) canbe sent to a network management system (e.g.: SINEC NMS) or as anemail to a specified network administrator.

The integrated web server enables configuration and diagnosticssettings to be made using a standard browser (e.g. portconfiguration). Statistical information can also be read out viathe web server (e.g. port utilization).
