Terminal covers for protection against inadvertent contact
with exposed bar connections (DIN VDE 0106 Part100/EN 50274)

The covers are suitable for all reactors and filters with 1-holeflat connectors. Assignment of the covers to the reactors andfilters can take via the connection hole diameter.

If no other information is provided in the technicalspecifications, touch protection for the backs of hands againstunintentional contact with live components can be created accordingto BGV A2 by using the covers.

Reactors for AC operating mechanisms

Three-phase mains reactors for frequency converters are used inline-side infeeds. They are connected such that alternatingcurrents with line frequency as the fundamental wave frequency flowthrough them.

The reactors limit the circuit feedback which can arise in the formof harmonics. In addition they reduce the alternating currents,with frequencies caused by switching of the input rectifier, in theDC link capacitors.

• Reactors with a related voltage drop uD of~ 2 % for operation with converters without powerrecovery.

• Reactors with a related voltage drop uD of~ 4 % for operation with converters together withautotransformers with power recovery and for use in networks whichhave a uk networkof < 1 %.

Iron output reactors for AC operating mechanisms

Output reactors are used on the load side of frequency convertersand motor currents flow through them.

Output reactors compensate capacitive charge-reversal currents withlong cables and, in the case of long motor cables, limit the dv/dtat the motor terminals. This enables the use of longer motor supplycables:

• 200 m shielded motor cable

• 300 m unshielded motor cable

• Operating mechanisms with standard and trans-standardasynchronous motors and a rated motor frequency (field weakeningfrequency) of up to 87 Hz and a maximum frequency of 200 Hz.
